Long time, no blog

FOR. REAL. Whew. I can't believe January is almost over and I'm just now getting around to updating for the first time this month. I'll rewind to three weeks ago.

It was my first day back to work after the holiday break and I was recovering from strep throat. I got a call about 4:15 p.m...Kathryn had 104 degree fever at school. I dropped everything and got to her school as quickly as possible.

The poor thing was just laying down in the reading corner of her classroom. She told me "when I woke up from my nap I told my teacher I just wanted my mommy." Gah. She was bright red, so hot and just wanted to be held.
A flu and strep test later, she tested positive for the flu. Thanks to some children's Motrin, she was feeling like herself again and we were on our way to pick up the Tamiflu. While waiting for the Rx to be ready, I treated her to some frozen yogurt to "help cool her down from the fever." You'd never know this was the same girl from just hours before.
A few days of rest at home and she was back to herself.
Besides the month starting out a little sickly, things haven't been all medicated around here.
Proudly showing off the puzzle Aunt Deb gave her that she completed all by herself!
 Bow and arrow practice

She still loves gymastics (and is getting really good!)
The poor thing has no personality
We had a (super) rare treat this past Thursday night...SNOW! We never see little snow flakes on the iPhone weather report!
We woke up to a light dusting, so naturally it had to be documented.

Because of freezing rain during the night, we had a delayed opening at work which meant a wonderfully slow-paced morning.

Then it was time to play.

Warming up in the car
And then this weekend it warmed up (mid-70s, for goodness' sake)! Within two days Kathryn was throwing snowballs and then riding her bike in a short-sleeved shirt. She's really starting to get it!

Complete with a zoo of animals swarming around her and even a rooster in the background ;).
We took a little hike and Kathryn called us the "Adventure Explorers"

Okay, no more letting nearly a month go by without posting. Here's to February!
