Thanksgiving Weekend

Another Thanksgiving is already behind us. How?! We had a fairly low-key one this year (I'm stilled bummed I didn't fit in a Thanksgiving nap though).
This year I went with one of my favorite Thanksgiving desserts, cinnamon pumpkin roll with chocolate filling and a new favor that I tried on a whim, salted caramel apple pie bars. I highly recommend both recipes if you're looking for a fall-themed dessert.
Per tradition, the day after Thanksgiving, Sally, our Elf on a Shelf, made her appearance and each morning since then K looks forward to the hunt to find where she's hiding.
On the same day we also headed up to Fort Worth to take advantage of a free night hotel stay that was about to expire and also go to Six Flags for the first night of Holiday in the Park.
Six Flags + Christmas = one happy little girl
Who is this teenager and what has she done with our four year old?
All of us really enjoyed the lights and the Christmasy feel. It's the most wonderful time of the year!
We went to a couple of their Christmas shows (signing and dancing). She was hooked!
She's been asking us for a while if she could try cotton candy, so we caved. This is the smallest size they sell and we still have more than 3/4 left in a ziplock bag!

They even had sledding!
And we did it too! E. J. went first and unfortunately I didn't get video of him.

And of course, a picture with Santa!
The next day we went to my type of theme park, The Galleria. K was memorized with the ice skating rink and I promised her I would take her ice skating at our local rink over Christmas break.
Although we didn't end up buying anything, K had just as much fun browsing as I did.
We're ready for Christmas (although I still have so much to do) but I love the hustle and bustle of the season. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
